I have been writing professionally for more than twenty-five years, beginning as a "stringer" for the Lerner community newspapers in Chicago during the mid-1970s and continuing through the publication of eleven non-fiction books, all dealing with aspects of city history, politics, sports, ethnicity, and urban crime.

It is my intention to share with readers my personal and professional background with additional insight into the world of book writing, agents, and publishing as I have known it all of these years. I will be happy to discourse with writers and aspiring authors on the pitfalls, the joys, the heartaches and the excitement of breaking into print.

You will also find a collection of my writings, information about my published books and how to order them, personal thoughts, reflections on childhood and further observations about the business of book writing.

Your comments, questions and suggestions are always welcome and I invite you to share your thoughts with me by sending inquiries.

I appreciate your interest in my work and I value your friendship and support.
